General information on data processing
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Personal data is only collected to the extent necessary.
processed and used. This is based on the provisions of the GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
Collection and storage of personal data as well as the type and purpose of its use
a) When visiting the website
Information (e.g., IP address, date/time, browser type) can be automatically collected and temporarily stored in log files.
The legal basis is Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f GDPR.
b) Making contact
When you use a contact form or send us an email, we process the data you provide to handle your request.
Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR (consent).
c) Newsletter (if offered)
Your email address will only be used for sending you this newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
d) Donations
On our website, we offer users the option of making online donations. If a user takes advantage of this option, the data entered into the corresponding form is transmitted to us and stored. The form is provided by SozialBank AG, Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer 85, 50668 Cologne, Germany. The entered data is therefore transmitted directly to SozialBank and the technical service providers used by SozialBank to provide the form via an encrypted SSL connection for the purpose of processing the donation. The data will not be shared with any other third parties. The following data is collected via the form:
Full name (last name, first name) with salutation (optional title and company name); address (street, house number, city, postal code, country); email address (optional); bank details (IBAN); donation details (recipient, amount, purpose of donation, donation receipt requested)
Additionally, for donations via credit card: card type, card number, CVV/CVC security code, credit card validity period.
If a donation receipt is requested, we process the data in order to issue and send a corresponding donation receipt.
The collected data is necessary for processing and fulfilling the donation. The user's voluntarily provided email address will be used for donation-related communication. The data will not be used for any other purpose. The legal basis for processing the data is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
When the form is submitted, the user's IP address is also stored. We use the IP address to prevent misuse of the donation form. The IP address is used for fraud prevention and to prevent unauthorized transactions that could harm third parties. The legal basis for processing the IP address is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected. For bank details, this is the case after the donation amount has been collected; in the case of a recurring direct debit donation, after the recurring donation order has been terminated. Address details, like all other entered data, will be stored in accordance with tax law retention requirements after a donation receipt has been issued and sent, if requested, but will be blocked from any other use. The IP address collected during the submission process will be deleted no later than seven days after collection.
The user has the right to object to the processing of their data at any time. However, please note that if you object, your donation request cannot be processed as requested.
e) Provision of paid services (if offered)
In order to provide paid services, we request additional data. This includes, for example, payment information.
To ensure the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (such as SSL) via HTTPS.

Data will only be transferred to third parties with explicit consent, legal obligation, or for the purpose of fulfilling a contract.
